Reaching out for support is an extremely brave thing to do and our team thank you for putting trust in them. You will be believed and listened to when you call our Womensline. We also work with stakeholders, family, friends and professionals who are calling about a woman they have concerns for.
Here’s what to expect
At first, you will hear a pre-recorded message and then a team member will answer your call. Sometimes you may have to wait a short time for the next available crisis counsellor.
The crisis counsellor will ask you your reason for calling and any concerns you have around yours or your children’s safety.
Depending on what you need, the crisis counsellor may help you with transport to a safe friend or family member’s home, book you into accommodation if you have nowhere else to stay, or connect you with another service if we can’t provide what you need.
Your safety is our priority and we can work with you whether you are in a relationship, are thinking about leaving or have already left.
