At DVConnect Mensline, we work with men who are experiencing violence in their relationships or using violence. We also work with stakeholders, family, friends and professionals who are calling about a man they have concerns for. Reaching out for support is an extremely brave thing to do and our counsellors thank you for putting trust in them.
Here’s what to expect
At first, you will hear a pre-recorded message and then a counsellor will answer your call. Sometimes you may have to wait a short time for the next available crisis counsellor.
The counsellor will ask you your reason for calling and have a conversation with you focused on yours and/or your family’s safety depending on your reason for calling.
You may be given a few different options depending on your needs, including crisis counselling over the phone, information, general advice and referrals to other services.
All Queenslanders have the right to feel safe from domestic, family and intimate partner violence. We are here to help.
