DVConnect Announces Appointment of New CEO, Joanne Jessop

DVConnect is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Jessop as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Joanne brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strategic vision that aligns with DVConnect’s mission to provide high-quality support to victims of domestic violence across Queensland.

Joanne Jessop joins DVConnect at a pivotal time, as the organisation navigates a complex landscape of increased service demand and evolving community priorities. DVConnect recognises its important role in delivering solutions that contribute significantly to both national and statewide efforts to eradicate domestic violence.

Joanne’s appointment marks a significant step forward in reinforcing DVConnect’s commitment to organisational clarity and stakeholder engagement to ensure best practice service delivery. Joanne joins the strong DVConnect Board and skilled leadership team, with a key focus on system reform to ensure that people, families, and communities are safer, and that the additional investment committed by State and federal Government has the biggest impact possible.

In her previous role as Group CEO with Vertaview Group (Multicap, Open Minds, Allinto, and Arbourwell), Joanne led the Group to become one of the ten largest providers of high-quality, evidence-informed NDIS funded services across Australia. She is currently a director for Bric Housing, a Queensland tier one community housing provider, and Ability Roundtable, Australia’s largest disability sector benchmarking organisation fostering innovation and service improvement.

“I am honoured to join DVConnect and lead an organisation that plays such a critical role in supporting victims of domestic violence,” said Joanne Jessop. “I look forward to working with the dedicated team at DVConnect, our partners, and stakeholders to enhance our services and align with community expectations and government priorities for proactive, solutions-drivenactivities.”

DVConnect will continue to be an outcomes-focused organisation that is an essential part of the solution to ending violence against women and children in a generation, delivering Queensland-wide high-quality recovery and healing support to victims of crime and responding to and preventing domestic and family violence.

Joanne’s immediate focus will be on defining and communicating DVConnect’s core purpose, ensuring alignment with community priorities, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Board Chair Fiona Maxwell welcomed Joanne into the role, and highlighted Joanne’s ability to lead DVConnect through this transformative period. “Joanne’s proven leadership capabilities and strategic vision make her the ideal choice to guide DVConnect into the future. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our organisation and the communities we serve.”
